With years of guiding experience, through MeetUp Groups, UC Davis Outdoor Adventures, and personal guiding, my passion is in helping others "stretch" themselves by experiencing things they might not otherwise experience. Through these organized events, my goal is to provide a safe environment for ladies of all experience levels to learn new things and grow. I meet each participant where they are at and believe we all have a unique badassery waiting to be discovered. Beginners Day Hike: Donner Tunnels

Skill Level: Beginner
Together we will explore this 3 mile out and back trail and I will be experiencing it for the first time with you. This is an easy route which will take us to the Donner Train Tunnels. This trek is a unique experience as we will explore dark tunnels which have been decorated with graffiti “art work”. We may encounter dripping water and puddles, inside the tunnels, and everyone should have a flashlight or headlamp with them.
This will about 3 hours as we will take our time to enjoy the “art” and the views. I am not a “fast” hiker, and my pace will be that which is necessary to ensure the safety and enjoyment of the slowest person in the group. Participants must be comfortable with that concept as I am about compassion, teamwork, support and a “tribe” mentality.
Trail Details:
- Distance: 3 miles
- Elevation Gain: 393 Ft
- Terrain: Mostly flat
- Water: Be prepared to carry 2 liters.
- Headlamps: All participants must carry a headlamp in case we are returning in the dark
What is included:
- The fee covers my time, experience and guidance.
- Group first aid kit
- I will provide a snack treat at the tunnels
What is not included: Transportation
Participants will meet at 7:45am. The exact meeting location and further details will be provided in a group email to those who have signed up and are in a paid status.
